Didi is a little unsure with kids even a little scared at first. Through positive introduction and food, Didi warms up to children in around 2-5 minutes. After that, Didi can be petted by children all over, and takes treats very gently. Didi is also very well socialized with dogs. He politely sniffs and greets dogs he meets the first time, then waits for the other dog’s “reply”. If the other dog growls or snarls at him, then Didi gets the message and leaves. He loves playing but never gets into a fight for being too excited. Didi has not lived with cats but goes to the foster’s friends’ homes that have cats. He has very little reactions with cats and would not chase.
Didi does need stimulation throughout the day, otherwise he chews the furniture at home. That being said, if he has alternatives to chew on, he can leave the furnitures alone. He especially enjoys the squeaky toys. He enjoys outdoor walks and runs and would settle with exercise.
On the night of Sep 29 2020, Didi was ran over by a scooter and it ruptured his spleen just shortly after the rescuer returned Didi back to where he was from after neutering him (TNVR). Thankfully the rescuer found Didi in time otherwise he would not have survived. Didi is doing very well since the trauma. He loves people, dogs, and cats, and learns everything super quickly. He does adapt well to a new environment but does get upset when his human leaves. Because of this, he might try to leave the new home to look for his old person when first going into a new environment. He might jump, flicker at sounds and large movements at first, so the new owner should lead him and expose him to these stimulus to help him settle. He is good with grooming just dislikes the blowdryer.
