Lily was abandoned along with two other siblings at the Fisherman’s Wharf. When she was found, what was beside her were the bodies of her siblings. In fear of Lily being run over by cars like her other siblings, the rescuer scooped her up and fostered her. Lily is very friendly towards people and dogs, but is sensitive with loud noises. When hearing loud cars or loud noises on the street, she might stop and refuse to walk. When she freezes, it is important to not pull her, but to calm her down and encourage her to walk on. Lily loves to play with dogs and can be a little shy at first when meeting people. With some encouragement and treats, she opens up quickly. She potties outside mostly, but sometimes poops at home.

Nov 16 2019 the rescuer got a call for her sister, saying that there’s a malnourished dog passing out in front of the neighbour’s house, lying in pee and poop, with foam in the mouth. The rescuer thinks the dog was poisoned and told the sister to send the dog to emergency. After chatting with the neighbour, the neighbour casually said the dog was there for a day already and they were going to put him in a garbage bag and tossing him away. At the vet hospital, the dog’s blood panel was a mess. The vet told the rescuer not to be too sad if the dog doesn’t make it. Miraculously, he got better! Even the vet called it a miracle, so we named him Miraca! Miraca is shy and would try to hide under a table or in a crate when he’s unsure in a new environment. He is obedient, quiet, chill, and easy to walk. He is dog and cat friendly!

Ranger was found dumped by the river park. The tourists saw Ranger by himself, trying to play with everyone. When it was at the end of the day, Ranger tried to leave with some of the tourists but was disappointed that no one was going to take him home. A passing by student saw this, and decided to take him home. Unfortunately, the student’s parents do not allow dogs at home, and he would only hide him. He knows it is a matter of time before his parents find out, so he made a post on social media asking for help, and that’s when the rescuer took over and placed him in fosters. Ranger is a happy go lucky and affectionate boy! He was so in Taiwan and still is here in Canada! In his Vancouver foster, he sleeps through the night with the little girl, and is doing very well with the resident dog and kitty! Although Ranger is generally friendly with cats, he sometimes forget the feline friends are not puppies! We will recommend supervision in the beginning when they interact.

Cat Friendly: Won’t chase or attack

Kid Friendly and reaction to Men: Won’t reject unfamiliar men or children

Rupert was taken to a vet hospital to be neutered at 2 months old. The vet thought that was too young, and while waiting for him to grow older a kind woman inquired about him, and upon learning that he had been found as a stray at a local market, and that the venders at the market were mean toward him, she decided to take him in and foster him. He has since been living in a household with other dogs and a man and woman, and gets along great with them all.

Rupert seems to have been born with no fears, he is not afraid to play with bigger dogs and he is very quick to want to play, even taking the initiative to play with strangers, which is uncommon for strays with his background.

Being a Formosan Mountain dog cross, he will grow to a medium size dog around 15-20kg and of a border collie size. Due to the intelligent, sensitive, and active nature of the breed, Rupert will do best in a family that has a medium to high energy life style.

Found in a park wondering around on Oct 4 2019. He was very chill and quiet, but he had a visibly enlarged neck. After shaving him they found the enlargement is not a growth, but rather unhealed wounds from dog attacks. The wounds were severely infected. He was also infected with heart worms and ehrlichia. With the rescuer’s effort, Murphy is now healthy! He has some bone spurs due to age but does not affect his mobility. He is overweight so he always walks slowly and no rush. He is definitely a water dog and loves swimming! His hair is long soft and silky! He will do well in a quiet and low energy family that wants a quiet companion.

Allen and Arvin were puppies wondering on the street before the residents called the animal control. Seeing how care free the pups were, the rescuer saw great rehoming potential, then subsequently take them into foster care in Central Taiwan.

Both Allen and Arvin are affectionate, active, playful, and a little naughty in nature. They currently live in a foster family with both a man and woman, and other dogs. Arvin is still very cautious about going on walks, but with time will gain confidence and love walks.
