Olive was abandoned at a duck farm. In the rural area, the locals were not friendly to the animals. Often, the pet dogs are not neutered or spayed. When the unwanted puppies are born, the locals dump the litters in the dykes. The rescuer is friends with the owner of the duck farm and the friend already adopted so many abandoned dogs that she couldnt take another.

Olive despite being abandoned, is very affectionate and friendly towards human. She adapts well to a new environment and is of a gentle and easygoing type of personality.

Nix was abandoned by the rice fields along with his two siblings. They were posted on social media, and the rescuer took two, while another was rescued by another group. Nix is a calm dog and on the submissive side when socializing with other dogs. He’s shyer and more avoidant when he meets dogs that are larger than his size. He likes playing with dogs that are polite and gentle, and would avoid the ones that are overly pushy and extroverted. Nix is also quite food driven. He likes playing with toys. Similar to his dog preference, he prefers calm and gentle children rather than the loud, overt, overly eager children. He is on the shy side with strangers and take time too warm. He currently lives with 2 men, 2 women, 2 children, 8 dogs and 10 cats.

She was abandoned at the door of a kindergarten, with both ears clipped. Because of the ears, the rescuers thought she was spayed. Unexpectedly, she went in heat in a few days, and the rescuers rushed her for an emergency spay. The rescuers were thankful that they got Olivia in time before she gets pregnant.

When first arrived in a new environment, she’s usually shyer towards strangers, but is very gentle. She’s very quiet when being with children. For this calm temperament, the rescuer didn’t want Olivia go back to the street anymore. She currently lives with a couple, dogs and cats.

Yuri was found on the road with dermatological conditions and wounds that were clearly from being abused. After taking Yuri to the vet to treat for her wounds and skin, she started to heal. Yuri is very affectionate and energetic. Yuri is passionate, good with kids, and not afraid of strangers. She loves to play and does not guard at all. When Yuri is excited, she might lightly nibble on your fingers to beg for more playing but does not bite.

Overall, Yuri will fit well in active families that can provide her with lots of exercises including hiking, zoomies and stimulating playtime. As a Formosan Mountain Dog cross, we expect her to grow to a medium size, medium to high energy dogs that will require good exercise and mental stimulation.
