Rescuer rescued Lotus from animal trap in Taiwan. Lily had an irresponsible owner.  She was lucky that she was found early, and did not sustain permanent injuries. She could still walk normally.  She does not guard her food against people even when the food was taken directly away from her bowl. She does not guard her food against dogs and she could share her food with other dogs from the same bowl. Lotus gets spooked by firecrackers and thunder easily. Large and sudden motion could spook her as well. Lotus does not show aggressive behavior against cats. If cats hiss at her, she would bark back but would not charge toward the cat.

The rescuer saw a Facebook post asking for help. In the post, there were two dogs’ pictures and the person said they couldn’t keep the dogs and would put them to the shelter if no one could help. The rescuer quickly contacted the person and drove more than an hour to pick up the dogs. Panda and Sock’s mother came to say hi to the visitors (rescuers). The person withe dogs said that the mom was a stray and came to their home and gave birth to 6 pups. The mom and the pups only ate the human leftovers to survive. When the pups reached 1 month old, the person’s dad kept one pup and drove the rest 5 out to dump. The person with the dog was angry and drove out to look for the puppies, but could recover two. In Taiwan, the superstition was the dogs with white feet are unlucky because the luck would leak out from their feet. The rescuer took the pups home to prepare them for their forever home.

Marnie was found abandoned in at the recycling centre. At the centre, large trucks come in and out and is not a safe place for a pup. Marnie is active, happy and not skittish. She’s communicative and would bark to get you to feed her. She’s still in her puppy stage so would want to chew on people’s pants. She likes to climb into the bed to sleep. Once she’s on the bed she’s fast asleep!
