Nala has a beautiful smooth and short coat with unique colouring and marking. Not only is she good-looking, she is also gentle, lovable, and affectionate. Good with kids and dogs, and definitely friendly with humans, she can be that perfect snuggle machine at home, and that active hiker on the Canadian trails!

The rescuers believe that Nala once belonged to a home, but was later abandoned. She was an intact female on the street, and inevitably gotten pregnant and gave birth in a baseball field in a Southern Taiwanese neighbourhood. Her daily routine was to beg for food at the nearby commercial strips and returns to the field to nurse her children. She was extremely protective of her litter at first until a rainy day, when the rescuers took all her youngsters. Nala seemed to understand the rescuers meant well. She followed the car to the rescuers’ home. There, she settled in with her puppies and showed everyone how friendly and affectionate she is.

Perhaps she was once used to a life in a family, Nala is incredibly approachable and affectionate. At the age of 1.5 years, she is expected to stay in the petite size she is in. Being used to a street life, she needs a longer period before she can be off leashed. Being a Formosan Mountain Dog, Nala will fit best in a family of at least medium energy lifestyle. She will shed minimally and only seasonally.
