[post_text_body]Meet Junior! He’s the pupper that has the most insane smile that will bright up your gloomy day! He loves dogs, people, children, men, even strangers. Despite never lived with a cat, he seems to show little interest in the cats he’s met at the vet. Junior enjoys to be held like a baby in his hooman’s arms and just be cuddled all day long! Being an “attention whore”, he does howl to have people notice him. Sometimes he gets so excited that he mounts, but will stop if corrected. All in all, Junior is a happy go lucky boy that will need some manner and independence training.

Junior was found on March 28th when the rescuer was visiting a friend’s restaurant and that’s when she saw Junior, with a cutest head tilt and half standing ears, staring into the glass door, as if he was wondering what people are all doing. When the rescuer walked out of the restaurant to look for Junior, he already crossed the road to another shop, and smiling to charm everyone passing by. The rescuer crouches down and called Junior, and he ran right into her arms. The rest is history. Being a Formosan Mountain Dog cross, Junior will do best in a home with an owner who is active and has some experience in handling dogs. We expect Junior to be around 35-45lb when fully grown. Although Junior has shown little interest in cats, the relationship with kitties greatly depends on the handler, the temperament of the cat(s), and the set up in the home.

Despite that Junior is diagnosed with elbow dysplasia, he is one happy trooper and he does not need surgery or other medical care for his elbows, just a life without long hikes or extreme athletics. Junior has medical insurance with Trupanion that covers his elbow dysplasia (and everything else) so he is covered for future veterinary needs if his adopter maintains this insurance.

Junior can still be active and would suit a family that wants to spend time with him in ways that are not extremely athletic. He can go for walks off leash for an hour or two, and because he has a confident, outgoing personality he will enjoy training classes and less intensely athletic dog sports such as obedience, nosework, Rally-O or tracking. He would love accompanying his human on errands to dog friendly stores or outdoor cafés. Junior is a charmer and makes friends wherever he goes – even at the vet he convinces all the staff to pet him. Other than pottying during the night, he can sleep through the night. When the humans sleeping next to him wakes up, he would wake up too and follow his person around. He loves being groomed and enjoys the warm air from the hairdryer. He can sleep through while being dried. He loves seating at the middle arm rest in the car when his human drives. Does alert bark sometimes at strangers but not always. So far, the foster has not figured out his trigger for his inconsistent alert barking. [/post_text_body]

Since then, the rescuer visits Rafael at the rice field everyday until she found a foster for him. She has attempted to look for local homes for sweet Rafael but was not successful.

Rafael is a happy, affectionate, playful, active dog. He’s social and friendly to dogs and people. He might be a little nervous when going into a new environment and adapts quickly.

She had many litters but she had no puppies left when the rescuers found her. Mia is a sweet heart and loves people, stranger, children and even cats! Rescuers thought Mia was much older, but she’s actually super playful and happy!

The rescuer saw a post on Facebook on March 15 2021 about a tiny little pup alone in an abandoned vegetable farm. He had such sad eyes. The rescuer drove to the vegetable farm and found him. Lucas approached cautiously and took treats from the rescuer’s hand but would not let her touch him. After around 10 minutes, the rescuer finally managed to put the leash on him, and Lucas followed her home without any protests. When Lucas got home, he was so happy to see all the dogs. He’s especially loving towards the cats and wants to play with the kitties all the time. He is still a little cautious with people but since his move to Vancouver has shown more interest and will even go up to people to say hello. Lucas is such a sweet, loving boy. He likes to wake up his foster parents with a wet snoot to the face and sloppy kisses, and you can tell he’s happy when he starts wagging his tail in a windmill fashion, which has been known to continuously whack against the wall/floor and knock things over from time to time!  We know if given time, he will grow into a confident doggo! The first few days when he was rescued, he’s so malnourished that he pooped only dirt and grass. Such a sweet boy deserves a loving home!

Meta was found in Miaoli end February, and she was very affectionate and happy. Because she’s so good with people and strangers, the rescuers think she had a home before. Unfortunately, the rescuers couldn’t find any microchip when taking her to the vet to scan her. Meta is happy little pup that likes everything everyone and especially food! Although she is cat friendly, shyer or non dog-savvy cats may dislike her. Sometimes she barks at strangers out of excitements, but can be easily corrected. She wants to play all the time, so a family that is active and is into training would be a good fit for her.
