Jasmine was living in such an impoverish environment that the owner’s sister “stole” the dog and asked a rescuer to rehome her. She was chained, isolated, forced to sit on her urine and feces ever since she was bought into the family. Her food bowl was filthy and often empty. Her water bowl had moss and mould growing all over it and it would flood on a rainy day, and dried and hot on a sunny day. Even though she’s so neglected, she still dutiful barks and alert when strangers pass by. At the foster, she’s slowing understanding that she is no longer required to guard her “home”, and can relax and be hugged and loved.

Jetter was surrendered to our rescuer because the previous owner couldn’t take care of him anymore. The previous owner picked Jetter up also from the street. He was found emaciated, dirty, and scared. In fear of him ending up in puppy mills (yes the backyard breeders will find dogs like this on the street and take them to the puppy mill and “milk” him for money!) the previous owner took Jetter in. Despite the owner’s effort in rescue, he paid no attention to Jetter’s emotional well-being, or even bothered neutering him. The owner tossed Jetter to the rescuer, and hope the rescuer can find Jetter a good next home.
At first Jetter was scared of everyone, and would growl at people approaching. Despite of his fear, Jetter puts his trust in food (and the person feeding him the food!) In a period of a month, Jetter starts approaching the foster mommy and asking for pets and snuggles! We know he will do even better as time goes on!
Being a mini poodle, Jetter is hypoallergenic, fun, and energetic to be with. The previous owner is male, hence he has minimal fear towards men. Jetter is arriving in Vancouver on 9/16, and hopefully he can find that someone who can love him forever!

The Chinese new year in 2018, the rescuer was thinking of taking a light break. She went to the “Zi-nan” temple in Central Taiwan and praying for good luck the following year. That’s when she saw 4 puppies, Lulu, Harley, Jett and another pup at the parking lot, begging for food from the visitors. The rescuer couldn’t take all the pups home the day of because she was sharing a ride with a friend. She returned a few days later on March 1st to rescue the pups, only to found that one of the pups were run over by cars and passed, leaving only Lulu, Harley, and Jett.
Lulu and Harley were homed in Vancouver last year, leaving Jett, the shy and introverted giant. Jett dislikes puppies and other dogs perhaps due to his need to submit to other dogs in the parking lot when he was a pup. After a year long training, Jett could interact with children, dogs, and people normally.
After arriving in Vancouver, he has to find trust in the new people. Despite being very unsure and scared, he bonded beautifully with the foster dad! Lots of love stares and kisses. It was slow but he eventually extended his love to the foster mom. Sometimes Jett gets mad if the foster mommy pets him when he’s sleepy, but one night, he just climbed onto the couch uninvited, and just cuddled.
Jett is very laid back and attached to his people once he knows them. The new adopters will need to train him with his quirkiness towards meeting pushy dogs and puppies that don’t read social clues. He will be eventually okay with children, but we recommend an adult only household for a low stress transitioning period.
Jett heels very well on and off leash, and has wonderful recall. He is skittish and would hide behind the foster if he’s unsure of the situation.

Norton was found in a landfill in Taiwan when he was around 1.5 months old. He had skin conditions and was very tiny. The rescuer scooped him up and took him home. He was very loving and took the first bath very well. Very quickly he warmed up to everyone in the household, and he was subsequently adopted into Vancouver.
He however did not adjust well in the next year in his adoptive home. He was overly enthusiastic about the cats at home, struggling with potty training, and did not understand a toddler is not a dog.
It was evident that the family’s lifestyle is not one that matches Norton’s activity needs, nor did their dog handling experience enough to keep up with Norton’s sensitive mentality. He develops an OCD that he would pace around the home uncontrollably when he’s overly excited or anxious. He became skittish and fearful of children. At the end, the family could no long provide the care he needed anymore, and returned Norton back to CooGo.
At the foster, Norton did very well. He became potty trained in a week with the aide of a crate, and he started building his confidence in a household that is quieter and children free. His size and low barking level make him ideal for condo living.
Norton will do very well in a household that is quieter, although with some work and patience, he can quickly adapt to a busier household. He will need good daily walks and some dog playing time. He enjoys cuddling and bonds with his human quickly. Some dog handling experience is recommended for the continuation of Jackson’s training.
