Bella was part of a litter of 5. Her mother died from poison when she was out looking for food for the pups. The rescuer couldn’t save the mother in time, but took in the pups.
Bella loves praises and would do anything for them. She might be nervous at the vet. The foster has been putting a cone on Bella so she can only see the foster mom, and the foster mom would praise her lots when the vet examines Bella.
Bella is cat friendly. She lives with 9 cats in Taiwan, and one out of the 9 cats would hang out with Bella and they are friends. The other 8 would walk by and ignore Bella, and Bella would respect them. Bella is a people’s dog. Although she is peaceful with dogs she lives with, she doesn’t invite or engage in play. She alert barks with other dogs but can be stopped. In a new environment, she might be prone to escape before she gets to know the family. Will need to be extra careful in the beginning.

Rex was rescued on the night of Sep 7 2020. The rescuer went to the temple nearby, and that’s when she saw Rex outside. She took Rex to the animal hospital nearby to do the vetting, before releasing him back to where she found him. Because Rex was so quiet, obedient and pretty, the rescuer decided to rehome him instead of releasing him back to the temple.
Rex is gentle and obedient. He would wait for his food without any prior training. He is a little shy in the beginning and would stay in the corner to observe in a novel environment. Just give him some time and space, he will come to you in no time! Rex does love playing with dogs, but sometimes when the play gets too rough, the adopter will need to separate the pups to allow them to cool down.

Loves playing fetch with people. Found with her siblings Mocha and Pepper on the seaside probably with the intention of drowning them. When they were found, the pups were happily chasing each other and eating sand. They were not skittish at all. Currently she’s living with 2 adult dogs, one 1 year old and another 6 year old. When she plays too vigorously or misbehaves, the 6 year old would come and discipline her. Pear always obeys. At the same time, she plays very well with the 1 year old. She also lives with 3 kitties. She loves playing and teasing the cats if the cats let her, but would not pursue if the cats walk away. Pear is an affectionate kisser and would greet everything everyone with kisses by jumping on them. For this reason, supervision is very important when meeting small children. Although she’s not skittish, Pear does need some time to warm to strangers and a new environment. Pear will do well in a family that is active and can keep up with her puppy energy!

Mayo was abandoned in the rice field when she was a puppy, and subsequently rescued and adopted by a couple. Unexpectedly, the couple was divorced and neither wanted to take Mayo. She was pushed around then ended up in the shelter. Because the previous owners never walked her, Mayo was a little skittish in the beginning. Through the foster’s socializing efforts, Mayo has opened up and would not stiff up when getting petted. She also improved when getting pets by strangers!

[post_text_body]
In the beginning of May this year at 4am, it suddenly started to pour outside. The rescuer opened the window to check on the rain, and that’s when she spotted Penny, just hiding by the neighbour’s garage door. She’s a dog that was part of the TNR program. The rain was so heavy that the rescuer took her in for the night. Seeing how friendly she is, the rescuer decided to rehome Penny.
She’s quiet, people oriented, and calm. She loves it when the rescuer calls her name in a high pitched voice. She runs over with a helicopter tail for pets. She walks very well on leash. She dislikes being petted on the chin, and would turn around and walk away. Sometimes when the rescuer pets her, Penny would have an expression as if she couldn’t believe that she deserves such kindness. Penny is also food driven and loves rolling on the grass!

Lily was abandoned along with two other siblings at the Fisherman’s Wharf. When she was found, what was beside her were the bodies of her siblings. In fear of Lily being run over by cars like her other siblings, the rescuer scooped her up and fostered her. Lily is very friendly towards people and dogs, but is sensitive with loud noises. When hearing loud cars or loud noises on the street, she might stop and refuse to walk. When she freezes, it is important to not pull her, but to calm her down and encourage her to walk on. Lily loves to play with dogs and can be a little shy at first when meeting people. With some encouragement and treats, she opens up quickly. She potties outside mostly, but sometimes poops at home.
