Polar was abandoned at a pet store and was on his way to be sent to the shelter when the rescuer intervened and took him into foster. He gets so excited when seeing his human home that he would barks to tell you all about it. He loves nibbling on your face to show his affection, and he would follow you around asking for hugs and listening to you talking about how your day has been.
Polar has his fair share for human love, but he does not like sudden actions that violates his personal space. For example, when the vet suddenly uncovers his mouth to check teeth, he growled; but when the foster mother gives him plenty of warning and pets before checking his mouth, Polar was agreeable. Polar needs some work on guarding his food. He does not like it when other dogs or people  manipulating or try to manipulate his food when he’s eating.
Being a Japanese Spitz, Polar will for sure shed. The Spitz family is one of the oldest breeds in the world and is a fantastic companion to people. They are fun to snuggle and exercise with. Polar will be most suitable in a family with medium to high energy lifestyle.
