Collin the 6 months old Formosan Mountain dog seems shy at first, but will transform into a charismatic, lovable, extroverted puppy just in a week! With 2 of his siblings (Biscotti and Q-bao) and 2 cousins here in Vancouver, Collin cannot wait to join the family reunion! Happy, and a total foodie, Collin is fun to hang with and eager to please. He is totally ready for a furever home here in Vancouver!
Colin mommy has a family but the owner did not understand the importance of spaying. She soon gives birth to a litter of 6 and was nursing them out of home. The owner did not care enough to intervene but the rescuers who work in the area would keep bringing food to help the mother nurse the young. Story didn’t end there. The neighbours in the area were so annoyed at the puppy noise that they secretly called the animal control to get rid of the puppies. The foster mother only found out after the puppies disappearance and reappeared on the shelter’s admittance list. Through some negotiation with the doggie mother’s owner and the shelter, the beautiful puppies are now in foster care, happy without a worry in the world!
Collin is a happy puppy who is good with people, although a little picky on his dog mates. He is still working on his kitty manners. We expect some improvement after a few kitty slaps. Currently weighs 9kg, stands 49cm tall 44cm long, Colin is expected to grow just under 20kg, 60cm tall and 65cm long. This estimation is based on the size of his mother. Although the breed is able to adapt to various lifestyles; however, he will do best in a home with medium to high activity level. The breed has a short coat that sheds seasonally and requires minimal grooming.
