McKenzie is a beautiful and sweet adult Formosan Mountain Dog looking for a home who has the love and patience to guide him out of the shell and blossom into a confident dog! Graduated from a 10 day puppy training class, McKenzie becomes more confident and more sociable, and even able to consistently heel and follow commands! McKenzie is a raw gem waiting to be discovered!

McKenzie was part of the litter of eight born in a broken street light on the side of the road. It is difficult to imagine that such a place is where he calls him. When the rescuers found them, they seem to be getting by without a mother. The rescuers knew that the puppies need to be taken into safe shelter. McKenzie being one of the cutest in the litter, was quickly adopted at an adoption event; however, his story didn’t end there. He was surrendered back to the rescuer because he was “too shy.” To help McKenzie overcome his introversion, the rescuers raised money for him to attend a 10 day puppy lesson, in which he graduated with an A++ report card! He has transformed and becomes more willing to socialize with pooches and people!

McKenzie is an insecure boy thirst for love. He will need a dog savvy person to help him rebuild his confidence. He is a classic alert Formosan Mountain Dog who would bark at strangers but will stop after he learns that the visitors are harmless. He would even come and lean on the humans! Like many rescue dogs, he is wary of adult men possibly due to past abuse. Being an adult Formosan Mountain Dog, Mckenzie will stay in the size he currently is, and able to adapt to various lifestyles; however, he will do well in a house with medium to high activity level.
